  Deployment Statistics

How do I use the website?

The website offers a number of different means to access the data, which can be selected from the menu on the top of the home page.

Opinion Results. Users can access a series of charts and detailed information that provide data on the opinions of agencies concerning the following issues: plans to deploy ITS technologies in the future; benefits of specific ITS technologies; the impact of different factors in making decisions to deploy ITS technology; and how agencies are handling funding of ITS.

Deployment Results. This is the primary means of accessing the data. It allows access to the database grouped by 7 different ITS technologies. Selecting any one of the 7 icons at the top of page gives the user a list of all questions related to the technology. Users can also select an agency summary view to see results for each individual agency surveyed. In some cases, the deployment results are also available in the form of summary charts. This section of the website also provides access to two additional utilities: Summary Sheet. Summary sheets are available for all metropolitan areas. These one-page summaries provide deployment statistics for key technologies and provide quick overview of the status of the metropolitan area. ITS in my State. As the name implies, this utility provides access to ITS data grouped by states. Users are provided a map from which they can select any state to see what deployment data are available through the web site. Access is provided to results for each metropolitan area surveyed in the state. Users can select to receive data in summaries or in detailed agency reports.

Download. A variety of reports are available, including survey summaries for each survey type and a national summary report of the 2010 results. In addition, users are provided the capability to download the entire deployment tracking database, or selected portions of the database. The data are provided in a series of spreadsheets. For each survey type, an annotated survey is provided with the field names for each survey response. These field names are used in the spreadsheets as column headers, with a row for each agency.
