Deployment Statistics
About This Site - ITS Deployment Statistics Database
The ITS Deployment Statistics website contains information on the deployment of ITS technology nationwide. This information is gathered through a series of national surveys to track the level of deployment of ITS technology in major metropolitan areas. The primary use of this information is to support the national ITS program. In addition, other stakeholders can benefit from these data:
Federal staff interested in learning more about ITS deployment in particular program areas (e.g. freeways, arterials, transit, or public safety) or geographic areas (metropolitan areas),
Federal, state and local elected officials with authority to allocate funds to ITS deployments wanting to learn more about ITS,
State and local transportation officials interested in learning more about how other agencies have deployed ITS to help in their own deployment planning,
ITS vendors conducting market analyses,
Researchers seeking empirical data on ITS deployment,
Members of the general public interested in learning more about ITS.
This is a large data gathering effort. In the most recent survey, conducted in 2010, transportation agencies in 108 metropolitan areas involved with freeway, arterial, and transit management, public safety, and toll collection were surveyed.
